Now you might think it's a bit early to start talking about what I might possibly wear over the festive season.......but! If I've learnt anything on my capsule wardrobe journey it's that all the fun is in the planning! This is an area of my wardrobe that I don't like to spend money on......due to pay per wear being low. I actually prefer to dig deep into my wardrobe and bring out the same things year after year. A couple of my pieces are preloved so I shall begin with the tale of this little vintage velvet M&S blazer. I actually bagged this in a clothes swap! It's been in my wardrobe a couple of years now thanks to a lovely lady I met thanks to Instagram who happened to be at the event. You can still pick these up on eBay. I've linked a search here. M&S actually still do bring a version out of this every year as well! This one is a luscious very dark green......I was tempted to buy it in dark red when I spotted it in a charity shop in Glastonbury last winter! Keep your eyes peeled for one if you think it's something you'd like to add to your wardrobe!

I just happen to have a perfect preloved dress that goes superbly with it! I picked up this beautiful Zara dress at a preloved clothing sale held in Bath by @one.style.list The colours couldn't be more perfect to go with the velvet blazer. I wear it with some metallic Mary Jane style shoes (old from Gap) and my beloved Chanel bag.

Recently a lovely reader sent me a picture of herself in something very similar the Zara dress which you can see here. But again it's always worth keeping an eye out eBay and Depop to see if a preloved one becomes available.

I don't just save it for best......I've been known to pair it with a biker jacket and trainers too! I certainly like to get my money's worth out of these things!

Next is a dress that just keeps on giving - it literally takes me everywhere. An 'if in doubt' number if ever there was one! Quite a few readers have got in touch to say they've managed to source this dress via eBay.......again Depop is always worth a peruse too! As always though I have also found a High Street alternative here.

Time for a few separates. I've had this blouse for over 10 years! It just keeps on giving - I've even loaned to my mum in the past. It either cost me 10 or 15 quid......I picked it up for a song in the Warehouse sale. It's a 100% silk and is still going strong. I'll be pairing it with a pair of faux leather trousers this year.

Another shirt that I love with the faux leather trousers is this & Other Stories - though I will say I've learnt a valuable lesson thanks to this blouse! It's a 100% viscose and prone to some serious creasing 😬 I must remember to check the care label on things! It's pretty high maintenance so I don't reach for it as often as I should. However I do love the style of it so I believe it deserves a spot in my wardrobe! I've found an alternative that's a lot more practical here!

This Anine Bing velvet sweatshirt was a very lucky TK Maxx find a couple of years back. The textured letters make it just that little bit more special! I've found a lovely alternative here

And last but not least is this fabulous skirt. This was a gifted item from Roman Originals a couple of years back - not somewhere that I usually shop but this has become a cherished piece in my wardrobe. They still stock it and it is an inexpensive item to liven up your occasion wear capsule! You could always pair it with a chunky knit and boots and wear it anytime!

Just to show you other ways in which I've worn it!

So that concludes my evening capsule wardrobe edit. I hope it's inspired you to dig deep in your wardrobe to find something suitable should you have the opportunity to get dressed up over the next couple of months!

I'll be back at the weekend - winter coats are next on the agenda!

Back soon, Michelle x
