My Autumn Accessory Essentials

As I've run through my transitional clothes and footwear choices over the past few weeks I thought I would share the accessories I've been reaching for (my straw basket bags have been relegated to storage until next year!). I'm styling all of the bags with the one dress - leopard print is the perfect backdrop to showcase them all! The dress is H&M and is sadly no longer available - however, as usual I have found an alternative here. I've also added footwear that I'd use with each bag at the moment. If you've read my last couple of posts you'll know the colour palette is all pretty neutral - no change with the bags either!

I've had a few questions about this bag so I thought I'd start with it.......

I bought this bag back in January. It is super soft leather and has 3 compartments inside - one is zipped (perfect for your phone!) and has a magnet closure. The strap is adjustable and I like to keep mine quite short......more Scandi style in my head! It has been my most used bag over the past 4 weeks - it fits all my daily essentials and it goes with just about everything! I imagine it's one of & Other Stories best selling lines as they still stock it! At £120 I think it's a great price for a High Street bag that feels just a little more luxe.....if my house burnt down and I lost all my possessions I'd definitely buy it again in a heartbeat!

I've made a preloved bag purchase for #SecondhandSeptember. This Arket bag is currently on their website for £125 but I managed to bag myself a brand new one on Depop for £50 + P&P.

Tan goes with so many of the colours in my capsule. I had started to look at an APC bag - I was particularly smitten by the Sarah style as my birthday is coming up. And so I started to search, then decided I didn't want to spend £300+ on a bag and so went on the hunt for a preloved one. Whilst trawling the net I did come across the Arket bag and thought to myself how good the & Other Stories black bag has been.......loved just as much as any of my designer bags! So I decided to go for it. It's exactly what I was looking for so I am super chuffed to have bagged myself such an excellent bargain!

Next up is one of the most loved items in my wardrobe - my Balenciaga bag (influenced by Kate Moss no less!). I purchased this 17 years ago on a trip to Dublin with my husband (he was only my boyfriend at the time!). In those days - pre-children there was a bit more disposable income......I remember paying £560 for this bag! Looking them up now - inflation has hiked the price up to £1350!! If I needed to replace this I would definitely be looking to buy a preloved one from Vestiaire Collective. This bag has just got better with age so it wouldn't bother me at all to purchase a used one. There is still plenty life left in mine and I expect it to be in my wardrobe forever!

Last but not least on the bag front is this little classic from Longchamp. Their little grab-tote is pretty iconic. I also have a long handled version which is a great size for lugging around a laptop. This one slots perfectly into my transitional autumn.....and beyond capsules! Black trimmed with tan.......just a timeless colour combo. These are super lightweight and there is plenty of room for your purse, phone, keys, a make up bag, sanitiser, tissues, face masks and all the other gumpf we need to carry around!

I'm just going to sneak in one more accessory in thats not a bag.......sunnies! Normally Rayban wayfarers are my signature style in the autumn/winter however this year I've been reaching for a Le Specs pair called 'I feel love'. They are very similar to Wayfarers but frame is just a little more pointed on the outer corners which I feel is just a little more modern. Sadly they seem to be discontinued but I have seen something identical in & Other Stories which I thought were worth sharing. They are a super pair of sunnies for £23! I shall be wearing these for the foreseeable!

Last note - I debated whether or not to show you this again but as I am wearing it with most of my outfits and I still get questions about it - I thought I'd mention this necklace again......

Right - I shall be back next time with 5 things I've learnt about my style recently!

Until next time, Michelle x
