As the school holidays are looming and I imagine lots of us will be staycationing instead of holidaying abroad this year so I thought I'd share some holiday packing tips! I'll admit that I find it more of a challenge trying to cover all British weather eventualities. But hey....it is what it is and we are lucky to be going away. I'm looking for ways to make the best of my wardrobe.
As usual I have also done a video where I talk you through this rail - see here.
I'm just taking away one jacket to go over all the outfits. A khaki shackett is easily the most versatile style in my wardrobe. Khaki goes with just about every colour and this one I have from Topshop that can accommodate layers so it was a no brainer for this holiday.

My first tip is to take a pac-a mac with you. Mine is always stowed in the boot of my car incase of weather emergencies! It is ancient - bought from the menswear department in M&S when I worked there over 20 years ago! It's a zip up jackets that folds into a bag inside itself. Because it's a mens one it fits over my shackett.
Tip no.2 is to take a dap bag is another item that I've had in my wardrobe for years. As I ride my bike a lot locally this is the ideal way to carry stuff. It's coming on holiday with me because it accommodates the pac-a-mac and a water bottle perfectly. We are off to Devon and we plan to do lots of walking along the Jurassic coastline so this bag will come in very handy indeed!
Onto clothing. I'm trying to keep packing to a minimum so I'm using pieces that are easy to mix and match for maximum usage. The colour palette is cohesive and many of the items are dual purpose i.e I can dress up to wear out on an evening. It is all very weather dependent though. I'll be refreshing that weather app right up until we go and may swap a few bits in and out depending on the forecast.
What to travel in. Something comfy. I'm going for my trusty Adidas track suit bottoms with a black tee and my bandana trekking sandals. I will be taking a black cashmere crew neck sweater in case a warm layer is needed.....and off course my shackett will be thrown over to complete the ensemble.

I'm mainly taking sweatshirts, t shirts, jeans and shorts. I will link what I can or an alternatives with each picture.

The chances are that you have similar in your wardrobe. The only thing that is new here is the Pull & Bear tie dye sweatshirt which I bought just for fun. I've tried to be creative as possible to make up a few different outfits and hopefully I covered all possibilities. As I said there probably be a bit of tweaking depending on the forecast!
If you have an holiday tips or tricks please leave me a comment - I would love to hear!
Back next time with what holiday dresses I would have been taking to Crete this year - just in case any of you are off to sunnier climes.
See you soon, Michelle x
