I've only a few outfits to share - I have really gotten out of the habit of taking a daily outfit picture. It's hard for me to get a picture I'm happy with at the best of times.....it's even harder in the winter as the days are short and the light is quite frankly appalling! To be fair I don't miss the utter ball ache of getting someone to take a picture either! But I do regret not taking so much as mirror selfie as I like to have a record of what I've been wearing so perhaps it's about me and my tripod became friends? Anyway, I digress........
I wore this past season Selected Femme dress (via ASOS) with the preloved Churches brogues (via eBay) a couple of times throughout December and I wore it again on Thursday. The dress is so comfy. The brogues make it feel a bit edgier. I've worn it with a variety of jackets from biker to oversized blazer. Then I had this amazing T K Maxx find - (Nicole) Fahri boiled wool coat for Christmas from my lovely mum and I knew it would be perfect for throwing over my favourite winter dress!
Outfit inspiration stolen from a long-time style heroine of mine (namesake too!) Michelle Williams. I think it proves that simple is best and certainly stands the test of time as this picture was taken circa 2013 I believe. My cable sweater was a recent eBay purchase (believe me when I say I've been trying to source one for years!). I'm wearing a J Crew denim shirt underneath which was also an eBay purchase (about 5 years ago) and the coated jeans are past season from New Look. The new leopard print Vans are were inspired by a Kurt Geiger pair I wore to death......also around 5 years ago.
Michelle Williams wearing it so much better than me!
And finally. More in the same vein - totally my comfort zone! After reviewing my favourite outfits I can predict that you will be seeing a lot more stripes and leopard print in 2020......they are the mainstays of my wardrobe!

Celine Sunnies - Christmas pressie from the Hubs!
I shall no doubt be sharing more of my outfits observations in my next post (mentioned up thread )but for now I bid you a fabulous week ahead and I'll be back again soon!
Michelle xx
Nice to see you back on here Michelle and I'm loving the relaxed classics. I have to say that I'm pretty much enjoying repeat wearing stuff as well - it's real life and I've really taken my finger off the shutter this last month. It's been nice to have a breather.
ReplyDeleteReally looking forward to seeing your personal favourites vs the Best Nine according to Instagram. x
Aah thanks Mate! I am really enjoying my clothes again now that I don’t feel the pressure to post! I am much happier dressing for myself rather than the Gram!
DeleteLooking over my personal fav’s has revealed a theme.....things that never go out of style! ;0) Will reveal all soon! x
Hi Michelle, I really enjoy your posts and seeing what you are wearing. You should do and wear what makes you happy xx
ReplyDeleteHi Emma! Thanks so much for the lovely compliment! Yes....you are so right! I am nicer when I like my outfit! :0) xx
DeleteOh Michelle!!! HNY to you. Lovely to see you. And can I just say I totally relate to everything you said.. I am the exact same. By not sharing daily I repeat my favourites, Im not inspired by Instagram to go buy the latest trend , I just wear and buy(but a lot less!!) What I like, which means, like you, I wear it SO much more. Plus I feel so happy, it's like I've found myself again. I find it harder on the gram these days.. harder to post(as I know my outfits aren't what ppl really go there to look at) and I don't get a great deal of satisfaction from actually posting anymore- which I always used to, but now it doesn't seem so right ♀️ anyway, ramble over.. I just wanted to say how I feel the same and thank you for sharing!❤️❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteHello Rachel!! Lovely to hear from you!! I’m glad to hear it’s not just me! I’m enjoying my wardrobe so much more now that I’ve taken the pressure off of myself.....it is very liberating isn’t it! To be honest I actually prefer doing a little running commentary about my outfit on Instagram Stories instead of posting a static picture on the grid!! What I am going to do though is take a mirror selfie everyday because I miss having a record of what I’ve been wearing! Thank you for your lovely comment! 😘😘😘
DeleteHNY I am glad you are enjoying the outfits you choose and the way that you post more now. I still enjoy your style and find inspiration in it.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Esmeralda! Thank you for your lovely comment! 🙏🏻😘
DeleteVery happy to see your post. I can relate to taking a break from social media. The stripes and leopard look great. And I'm copying your Michelle Williams outfit tomorrow ;)
