Fifth element - the Mac

Upon reflection I should have included this item in my last blog post. I have struggled to find the right one over the years and now like buses three have come along at once. The trusty trench or mac has also become one of my main wardrobe staples.

The first one I fell in love with was thanks to one of Kilver Court's epic clearance sales where I picked up a Joseph trench that cost me £109. I think (if memory serves me correctly) it had a whopping 80% off. I can't do the maths but what I do know is that it would have been well out of my price range at full price. To be fair £109 is a lot to me too but I know this is something that will be in my wardrobe forever. As always I would recommend checking out outlet stores, preloved sites such as eBay and Depop......or if the thrifting fairies often shine down on you might be lucky enough to find in a charity shop! There are a couple on eBay at the moment - I have searched for you here.

Next to come along was an incredible eBay bargain. It was inspired by this M&S current season "car coat" which I spotted on Emma Hill back in September.

As I was in full swing of the #SecondHandSeptember challenge I took myself off to search eBay for something similar. Imagine the buzz of scoring a vintage black version for just £15!! The Autograph one above is £119! What a saving! And it's my pride & joy! I can fit a blazer underneath it.....it's so versatile! Again I've done the legwork for you - here's a search that will lead you to similar. Mine was circa 2003 according to the label and it's a size 12.

Last but not least........a gem uncovered from my mum's wardrobe! Smitten with this beautiful Aquascutum trench - mum says she's only worn it once! It has the signature club check lining and it's just a little different to the other two above. These normally retail at £650 (my mum worked for Aquascutum so would have had a hefty staff discount). Again these can be picked up on eBay (see search here). Worth checking out Burberry trench's too - I know a few people who've had a lot of luck picking up those for a song as well.....search here

I'll still be wearing my mac's during the colder months - they are another great option for the teen taxi service as not too bulky for clambering in and out of the car. Just add a heatech and roll neck cashmere sweater and you are good to go!

Just another little shout out for the Kilver Court Paul Smith sale - I will be popping down there on Saturday for a peruse!

N.B I"m not paid to mention the sale - I've just picked up some amazing bargains at Kilver and I wouldn't want you to miss out if you are in the South West! It really is worth a visit!

Lastly - just a quick mention as I have a few things on eBay myself at the moment that you can see here

I'll be back at the weekend - there is a party wear (my version of anyway) post underway but next up I'm going to share a few of my favourite A/W accessories!

Back soon!
