What didn't I wear? I thought it would be helpful for next years packing to do a little post mortem on what came home unworn....and then there is the matter of a couple of last minute things I popped in!
I definitely won't be taking swimsuits again....as much as I love the idea of them it was too hot too faff around with the blighters and struggle with them every time you needed the loo! Neither of my playsuits were worn and they may just be delegated to the *wear in the garden only* box. It was much easier to wear separates, especially if you wanted to nip to the bar for a bottle of water or ice cream as you could get away with just sticking your top on....I'm not one for strutting my stuff in just a bikini and the playsuits just seemed too much of an effort in the heat! Next time I would take a couple more t-shirts or tanks like these. I slipped my grey Zara one (similar here) in at the last minute along with a long sleeve Zara white linen top (similar here) and both got worn. I think a striped tee and some lighter colours were needed.....note to thy self....you packed too many black cami's! Other bits that made in into the case last minute were the H&M print shift...I love that so it got worn, I also bought this black dress from H&M and took it but I didn't get the opportunity to wear it! I picked up a brilliant little swing dress from the Gap outlet in Street (similar here) which I popped in my hand luggage to do a quick change once we touched down in Nice airport....sadly I missed a photo opportunity with that one but you are sure to see it soon! One last thing....I did take Helen from Net A Dressers advice on my last post and stuck a pair of sparkly flats sandals in.....so glad I did, as you can see I wore them quite a bit! Thanks you Helen!

I've never used Hammam towels before but I'm a convert as they are so easy to hand wash at the end of the day and they dry so quickly! The little grey tote is a super size, very lightweight and a lot less cumbersome than the straw beach bag....but my daughter kept hoodwinking it! The Beach Bunnies pochette was a Godsend for keeping my phone and keys within easy reach (and will now be a permanent fixture in my handbag!) and doubled up nicely as a clutch, also brilliant was the cosmetic purse to hold all the lotions and potions! I never go anywhere without a hat on holiday...this Accessorize panama is on it's last legs but it's served me well for the past 4/5 years! Last but not least....the Hav's....say no more!
And finally....well there had to be a holiday purchase or two! ;0)

So there we have it....my amazing holiday in a nutshell! It's back to reality now but I am heartened to hear that we are in for a lovely spell of weather....thus we shall still be in the holiday spirit! I am looking forward to getting lots more wear out of my holiday clothes! :0)
How did you get on with your holiday packing....or how is yours going? I would love to hear!
I shall be back again soon!

Some gorgeous holiday outfits you've put together together with the pics of St Tropez, makes me want to visit. I particularly love the H&M red dress and the white dress from Gap, look fab.
ReplyDeleteThank you....I would absolutely recommend a visit to St Tropez, it's such a gorgeous place xx
DeleteWhat a fabulous post! Your outfits are all so holiday perfect, your location shots are gorgeous, and you look so relaxed and content! Plus your note on what turned out to be not so useful (re holiday packing) is super handy and useful to read through. Have been stalking your white Gap dress for a while now, and have finally succumbed, my only fear is the sizing, there's only xxs left, however the on line reviews do repeat that it's a loose fit, fingers crossed! Enjoy the rest of your summer holiday - Lindsey Herts xx
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Lindsey! It really was a wonderful holiday and now I feel prepared with regards to what I pack next time! I do hope the Gap dress works out for you, it was the perfect dress to wear on a really hot day for sightseeing and it took me perfectly into an evening spent in St Tropez. Such a useful dress to have in your holiday wardrobe xx
DeleteLove all these looks, some great holiday outfits. I particularly like the Boden tunic and the white Zara dress. Also the H&M ones, not just THE red one that's all over IG but the dark one with the yellow flowers is fab, looks like a Sportmax dress!
ReplyDeleteSorry the white Mango dress not Zara, had to double check x
DeleteThank you Sally! The white Mango dress I've had for a couple of years but it's a great holiday dress that I hope to be bringing out in years to come! H&M have been so brilliant for dresses this year....I particularly love the navy floral print one....it's such a simple style, so easy to wear! I was kind of shocked that I didn't bump into anyone in St Tropez wearing THAT red dress! ;0) xx
DeleteWow Michelle, what a fabulous place for a holiday! Loving all your chic outfits - you're giving me lots of ideas for when we (finally) go away in the autumn!! X
ReplyDeleteIt was a gorgeous place for a holiday Becky...we all thoroughly enjoyed it! I shall no doubt be very envious of your holiday later in the year! xx
DeleteWe're heading to Saint Tropez next week! Any particular restaurant recommendations? X
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa...very envious that you are off to St Tropez! One place that we loved was right at the end of the port if you follow it right the way along called La Sardine. We managed to bag a table right at the front just before the queues started! The sardines were scrumptious! It didn't occur for me to check out Tripadvisor for this trip but I will definitely be doing that next time as there were some fab restaurants off the beaten track and some in Ramatuelle which was also near to where we were staying! Please let me know if you come across any lovely restaurants.....have a superb time! xx
DeleteSorry to interrupt but if you like trendy places then try 'Spoons at Byblos' . We ate there and loved it. Great for people watching. There's also La Caves night club which is amazing if you fancy a boogie. It's not cheap though but you might spot a few celebs. xx
DeleteOhhhh these pics bring back memories. I love St Tropez and I want to go back now after seeing your pics. Fabulous outfits too . Stunning as always xx
