I think you'll agree it's a versatile piece if ever there was one!
If anyone out there is looking for a more reasonable alternative to the Donna Ida sweater I stumbled across this doppleganger from Uniqlo, which is a lot more purse friendly. It does come in other colourways too.
Just a couple of outfits to share.....of course the aforementioned sweater was my go-to item for the first day back on the school run.....it is such a wardrobe no-brainer!

I think I am finally getting to grips with this wardrobe overhaul thing! I need to just need to keep an eye on what I'm buying and check that it is fulfilling it's potential amongst my favourite things .....surely that's a recipe for success and wardrobe perfection in 2016?! I bloomin' well hope so!
Until next time.

Ha - I just received the Uniqlo one - I thought it was a good dupe (ish) of the Bella Freud without the text...I love the white band. I also got it in white with a navy band:) xx
ReplyDeleteLol! Well, when the Hero goodies arrived I did think how very similar the Donna Ida sweater was to the BF one! ;0) The Uniqlo is a brilliant little sweater isn't it! xx
DeleteI love your sweater Michelle, and you have just to proved how much you love it too, by the amount of times you have worn it and I'm sure feel special in it too! I know for most of us it's not always possible to buy high end pieces, but a few really good pieces in your wardrobe really does give it the edge...And with some really good sales still on, maybe now is a good time to make those investment purchases if you can?! Having said all that I still love my cheapie high street buys too...I guess best I like a mash-up of it all!
ReplyDeleteHelen xx
The sweater is indeed treasured....I couldn't have won a more perfect competition really could I? I think in future with the classic items it would pay for me to buy higher end pieces as they are the foundations of my wardrobe, those are the classics that will hopefully last a lifetime. I'll always be a High Street girl at heart so I'll still be getting my on trend fixes there! xx
DeleteI think you've worn the jumper so much because it's gorgeous and it's a delight to wear cashmere- yes? My most worn jumpers are my cashmere ones - I've stacked up quite a collection now and yes, it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteOh, it is a delight to wear and it always gets admired too so it does make me feel special! I think next A/W I will definitely stocking up on some more classic cashmere sweaters as this one has been such a wardrobe hero! xx
DeleteGreat jumper Michelle & the colours & style fit in perfectly with your wardrobe.

Thank you Jane! It really could not be anymore perfect! :0) xx
DeleteIt's a gorgeous jumper and you wear it so well, Michelle. I love each way you've worn it. I absolutely adore the outfit with the grey coat and lighter colours - a bit different for you but I live it! Lynne xx
ReplyDeleteMwah! Thank you Lynne!
DeleteThe lighter outfit did go done really well on Instagram and I've been trying to put together some similar outfits ready for Spring! xx
I think it must have been fate for you to win that competition! The jumper is so you, and I love the way it's bold without being overly bright or gaudy. In my heart of hearts I know that buying fewer, but more expensive items is the way forward, but I too need to see if I can tear myself away from the cheap and cheerful end of the high street! xx
ReplyDeleteIt truly must have been Becky....it's just perfect for me! I'm in the same camp as you....I really want to invest purchase and I absolutely aimed to do that this month but I don't really know what I want and so a High Street purchase has been made. I have an idea for something I'd like to save for next month when I have a trip to London town! You'll be one of the first to know about it if i take the plunge! ;0) xx
DeleteOoh, interesting!
DeleteOh that Uniqlo dupe is going right on the wishlist! I went to Hero in Stockbridge today for the first time. Sooo many lovely things!
ReplyDeleteThe Uniqlo one is gorgeous isn't it! I like the other colours they do in it too! I'd love a trip to Hero, it looks so gorgeous.....I'll get there one day! :0) I'd love to hear if you made a purchase xx
DeleteSadly I didn't purchase but my friend bought the most beautiful neon pink cashmere cropped cardi (here: http://www.hero-online.co.uk/collections/womens-tops/products/1234neonpinkshrunkencardigan) and some lovely Wanderlust jewellery too. I thought of you today actually when I was trying this on in Top Shop - it's so fab on! http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?Ntt=moto%2bpinafore&storeId=12556&productId=21733300&urlRequestType=Base&categoryId=&langId=-1&productIdentifier=product&catalogId=33057
DeleteWow! Your friend did well didn't she! That cardi is a beauty....lucky lady! Love that pinafore....that is indeed very me, I have found my DP one so useful xx
DeleteIsn't it interesting that you found yourself returning again and again to the more expensive item ... we always hear how we should invest in our wardrobe, so its good to see that there is truth to the advice. It is a gorgeous jumper and love the many versatile ways you styled it x
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting isn't it....there is a lesson to be learned there for me. I think for investing in classic items within my favoured colour (mainly monochrome) palette is the way to go.....and I need to keep this in mind when I go shopping! xx
