Where did the original idea come from? Amanda Brooks was the first to inspire me.
I'd also remembered seeing the gorgeous Anine Bing sporting similar as well.
A quick try on and I was sold! I have to say I really love the fitting rooms in UO....so roomy!
I did find a couple of slightly more purse friendlier options here and here but the UO won me over as I like the chunkier black neckline on this one. It also comes in a variety of other colours here.

So that's my purchases for 2016 underway. A great staple that I've no doubt Urban Outfitters do all year round. Anyone else care to share if they have purchased anything new season yet?

Love that top on you Michelle, so simple and chic. Just had a peak, like the yellow and pink options too. Wish I had one closer to me, nearest is London and I never seem to head towards the Oxford St one. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Natalie! It slots in nicely in the wardrobe! I wish they did it in burgundy and white.....I might have to trawl the net for one in that colourway! So lucky as the store in Bath is fab! xx
DeleteGreat top! What's the sizing like please? I could do with one of these for under my dungarees.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think these run fairly small as I bought a medium and I'd normally be an 8-10 in a top. It would look fab under dungarees so I hope this info helps! :0)
DeleteIt does thanks! Think I'll order a large then.
DeleteI love a great baseball tee and they are perfect under a leather jacket or blazer!
ReplyDeleteOoh! What a fab idea to try under a blazer! Thanks for the inspiration Joanna...I have a feeling this top could be a lot more versatile than I thought! xx
DeleteIt looks perfect on you and that was helpful on the sizing. For the record - they have it in maroon online in UO ... aka burgundy ;o)
ReplyDeleteUh-oh! Looks as though I could be adding another to my wardrobe then! They do run small, I probably should have mentioned that in the post! I'll add, thanks Sue!
DeleteGreat top - I'm very tempted! Also like the sound of the maroon version that Sue has mentioned. Thanks for the tip off - we have a UO here in Belfast but I rarely go in. Must remember to do so next time I'm in town. Ax
ReplyDeleteIt's fab isn't it, another item in the wardrobe that I would happily wear everyday, I have many plans for it! Urban Outfitters is a shop I have always overlooked as I felt it was a bit too young and funky for me but they do have quite an eclectic range of stock....they sell Petit Bateau so I'm pretty hooked on them, they are my store of the moment! xx
DeleteLaughing as I blogged today also & said I was now over the sales & waiting for spring stock! Lovely top - really suits you well x
ReplyDeleteWhat have you done to me Helen....just popped over to your post and I'm loving the French Connection trousers....it's looks like I might not be over the sales after all! ;0) xx
DeleteSuch a cool wearable top Michelle. As much as we all love a Breton top, it's nice to have an alternative that still looks like you haven't tried too hard, but also looks spot on!
ReplyDeleteHelen xx
It'll fit perfectly into your wardrobe, Michelle. So you! Live your outfits as always. Lynne xx
