I decided to put my own spin on the bottom half (I'll be honest and say I'm not loving Kate's footwear choice here!) and thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to get my leather look leggings out and pair them up with the good old Converse Hi-Tops that have been glued to my feet for the best part of two months or more now! Pretty chuffed with the end result!
H&M tux jacket (current, here)
Uniqlo merino roll neck (sold out online)
H&M faux leather leggings (current, here)
H&M bag (current, here)
Converse Hi-Tops (here)
Accessorize necklace (Christmas pressie, here)
Obvs I didn't leave the house like this in these Arctic conditions (no snow here yet......but freezing to say the least!) I have wrapped up here with my ever faithful New Look beanie, Topshop boyfriend coat from last year and tried to add a bit of glam with a fur snood I sourced on eBay here.
What do you think?! Pinterest has come to the rescue yet again inspiration-wise as I would never have thought to put a roll neck under an evening jacket but I've loved mixing things up a bit!
It's a short but sweet one from me today but I will be back shortly......just compiling a list of the damage I have done shopping-wise in January. It ain't pretty! There has been no dry January here cue lots of online shopping and there has been no budget challenge for this blogger either!! Eek!!
As always I love reading and responding to your comments.
Be back soon!
Michelle xx
Love the polo neck teamed with the tuxedo Michelle & I much prefer your look to Kate's.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back my lovely you've been sorely missed.

My Midlife Fashion
Why thank you Jane....that is praise indeed! I shall be stalking a bit more of Kate's style to see what I can steal!
DeleteThank you for the lovely welcome back too, it's nice to be back! xx
Oh Michelle, it's so, so lovely to have you back. I love your look, far more stylish than Kate's I think. Looking as cool and chic as ever. Pinterest is great for inspiration, isn't it? Lynne xx
ReplyDeleteWhat would we do without Pinterest Lynne?! I have been struggling a bit but I can almost guarantee after a quick swizz around Pinterest I can knock a look up no problem!
DeleteThank you for the lovely comment xx
I love this look. Such great inspiration. I only wish the cold weather didn't mean that you need a coat over your tux. Roll on spring.
ReplyDeleteTell me about it...I am ready to get back into jackets, roll on Spring I say too! xx
DeleteYour look tops Kate's by far Michelle. I haven't worn my faux leather pants with converse. Off to give it a go x
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Donna!! Can't wait to see you rockin' the faux leather and Con's....don't forget to show and tell! xx
DeleteSo good to have you back Michelle! I love the roll neck with the blazer! Not sure on Kate's shoes either but hate to say it I had a similar pair once! x
ReplyDeleteYou know I bet the shoes are mega expensive and cool Vivienne Westwoods but they are a bit vertiginous for me! Thankfully such classic items such a roll neck anf tux were easy to adapt on the trews and footwear front! xx
DeleteYou are certainly getting your wear from the Cons! Great look, polo works really well with the tux. So lovely to have you back! :) x
ReplyDeleteHow did I live without the Con's Sian? They may need to be surgically removed.....I've worn them that much! It's hard to plan an outfit without thinking about them first so it was natural to try them out with the other classic bits! xx
DeleteI think the vote is unanimous here - you win! Love this on you Michelle!
ReplyDeleteNice to have you back lovely!
Yay!....That's not bad being up against the Moss is it?!
DeleteThanks for the lovely comment Sue, it is lovely to be back and to see that I've been missed! xx
I love this look especially with the Converse! X
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah.....now having lots of fun trying more of Ms Mosses looks, using the Con's of course! xx
DeleteSo good to have you back! Love the way you have styled this with the converse and polo...just a too cool for school girl Michelle! HelenXx
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen! I did feel pretty down with the kids in this ensemble! Just goes to show what a bit of playing about can do to maximise what's in ones wardrobe ;0) xx
DeleteOh, I wish I had your legs! Such a cool look, I agree with everyone else that you've outdone la Moss here - and that's no easy feat!! I've been trying resist the Uniqlo jumpers as I went a bit knitwear crazy last month, but I'd be interested to know how you found them sizewise if you don't mind sharing? Just out of interest, of course...
ReplyDeleteLovely to see you back, Mrs :-)
Becky x
Hey Becky, I try to do my bit exercise -wise like you to keep things in shape....the legs are holding up pretty well so far ;0)
DeleteI got the Uniqlo roll neck as I couldn't get my hands on the Gap bargains you got! I don't usually like myself in what I would describe as a skinny roll neck so I did size up and I ordered the large which is perfect, slouchier fit it the body but tight neck. The hubby loves it!
Thanks for the lovely comment xx
Thanks Michelle, that's useful to know. That's exactly the fit I am after xx
DeleteLove it, I am loving wearing a great jacket these days - may have just got some black converse too to add to my collection:)
ReplyDeleteLook forward to see how you will be wearing your Con's......I am always on the look out for inspo as you know ;0) xx
DeleteAs usual Michelle, you gave nailed it! Love this look, and will be checking out the H&M jacket. Great to have you back.

Bestfriendstyle
Bless you Sue, thank you so much! The jacket is totally fab for £24.99 and now I have found other ways to wear it it should easily come up trumps on the pay per wear front! xx
DeleteYou do this kind of look so so well, very chic and understated, I think being so slim you just make it look so easy. Great to have you back although I've not been around much myself!
ReplyDeleteA x
Thanks Abbi! Hope to see you back in full swing soon! xx
DeleteThat's a fab look and you definitely out-style Kate! I'm off to try that look now - would never have thought of a polo neck under a tux either.
ReplyDeleteLove finding this kind of inspo Helen as it does get maximum mileage out of an item like a tux jacket for me as that's something I would normally save for best/evening wear! So happy that I've managed to style it better than Kate Moss according to you lovely lot! xx
DeleteOh Michelle I am loving that snood - and 20% off - how cheap at £7.99! So considering it in the beige. What's the fur quality like and does it come up fairly large?x
ReplyDeleteI thought it was an absolute bargain when I paid £9.99 for it! It's lovely quality faux fur, I would say it's fairly close fitting around the neck, large enough to get your head through comfortably though! Hope that helps xx
DeleteOff to purchase one! I actually thought it was part of your coat, that's the only thing stopping me buying the beige....Will keep you posted and fab find, thanks for sharing! x
DeleteYou are welcome!! I noticed they had exactly the same snood in black in Topshop reduced to £7 today!! xx
DeleteMichelle wins by a mile - absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou win. Great to see you again. H xx
