Yes, that is a corkscrew you can see, having got caught short without one once, I don't intend to ever let that happen again ;0) We have the usual hand sanitiser, hand cream, Ibruprofen, I also like to carry a travel size deodorant and a Jo Malone scent sample.....just in case! The make up consists of a Mac lady blush which can double up as a lippy, my current favourite lipstick which is Revlon pink in the afternoon, a chapstick and a neutral Revlon eyeshadow single for the odd occasion that I may need to touch up! These bits and bobs wouldn't be much use without a compact mirror, which was courtesy of House of Fraser Linea. I carry a pair of earrings.....I feel bare without them so I carry a spare and also the hair grips and hair band which are as much for my DD as they are for me! So there we have it! I would love to know what you carry in your bags ladies.....any top tips for anything that you have found is a must have to carry around??
I am a sucker for any bag with a chain handle....this one is on my Christmas list! This one is also leather from H&M.
Marks and Spencer have a great selection of bags! I love the style of this bucket bag, it also comes in a lovely neutral taupe colour, although they describe as grey?!
Marks and Spencer bag in grey
Marks and Spencer tan messenger bag.....perfect for the school runs when it pays to have your hands free!
Metallics are a great neutral too! A bang on trend backpack from Topshop!
No selection would be complete without a bit of animal print....I've gone for a bit of snakeskin in black and white from Rebecca Minkoff via The Outnet
There is my handbag round-up of what I am loving out there at the moment, good job Christmas is in the not too distant future ;0) Which is your favourite from all of the above......is there a new handbag on the agenda for you?
I am only sharing one of my outfits from the past few days as I am conducting a little experiment which I will share with you next time! As you can see my top pick of bags from River Island would go perfectly with this!
Topshop oversize cardigan (current, here)
Marks and Spencer crew neck sweater (old, but similar here)
H&M patchwork jeans (current, here)
Adidas Stan Smiths (via eBay, but you can purchase here)
Primark scarf (Autumn 2013)
As always I love reading and responding to your comments.
Wishing you all a great week, I shall be back soon with that little experiment I mentioned!

Oooh I love a good nosy in people's bags Michelle. I adore the fringe bag. As you know I have the grey one and my daughter has the black ones we both used them the other day when out shopping together. She said we looked like a pair of twits lol. I might steal this post too xx
ReplyDeleteThe bag is so brilliant isn't it?! So much so that I've been using over my designer bags and it has had me scouring the High Street for other goodies as you can see! Steal away.....can't wait to see what is in your bag! xx
DeleteI should do one of these! Brilliant post! Must remember to put a corkscrew in mine!
ReplyDeleteThank you Fiona! I've now had a peek via Instagram at what's in yours ;0)
DeleteYep......I will never get caught again, the corkscrew is a must! Seeing everything all laid out has prompted to put a spare of contact lenses in my emergency stash! I wonder what else will find it's way in there?! xx
Oh it's very organised! I have receipts, receipts, tissues, letters, everything. But no corkscrew and no makeup. And no sunglasses. Infact, it's too embarrassing - I've sometimes thought it would be nice to do a post like this but I'd have to empty it out first ... a bit like cleaning before the cleaner comes.
ReplyDeleteSue, I think it looks tidy because I never use the same bag 2 days running so I'm constantly going through and sifting out any rubbish and refining what I cart around.....I've got it down to a fine art now! xx
DeleteOh I love the fact you carry a corkscrew. Michelle, such an excellent idea, just brilliant! I will be adding this to my list of things straight away!

I'm not quite sure what that says about me Jane......but it has definitely paid off with me being organised enough to be carrying around a corkscrew....lol! xx
DeleteCarrying a corkscrew, lol, I definitely need to be in your gang! I love the bag with the chain, just so stylish.

Hmm.......I realised that the corkscrew was an essential item after a gorgeous day out at a country park with a few of the girls and the kids which could have involved some rosé! All I will say is that thankfully the Country Park is within walking distance from my house :0) xx
DeleteIntrigued by your experiment Michelle, a great choice of bags I do like the bucket bags from M&S.

I'm compiling the *experiment* post at the moment Sue! M&S have seriously excelled themselves in every department this season but after having a leopard print bag from there last Christmas, they were my go-to store to check out the bags as the one I had last year is such great quality for the price xx
DeleteWhat a fab post, Michelle! I will be doing one of these :-) intrigued by your experiment too - can't wait to see what it involves! Lynne xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynne.....I look forward to having a snoop around the contents of your handbag! All will be revealed soon regarding my experiment! ;0) xx
DeleteWow, you are brave! I discovered a nappy - unused! - at the bottom of one of my bags last week. It's been a while since either of mine were in nappies, so I've no idea how long it had been there! It did shame me into having a good clear-out though, so for the time being at least my bags are all very well organized!
ReplyDeleteHa-ha! I must check out all the bags I haven't used in a while....it is doubtful that I'd find a nappy but wouldn't be lovely to find a tenner or that favourite lippy that's disappeared, that you feared you'd never see again! x
DeleteHi my lovely! Oh I do love this post so inspiring as I need to put some of these must have basics in my handbag too! Your H&M fringed bag is so gorgeous and loving your outfit post, your cardi is super stylish and so snug! Hope you and Gracie are having a great half term! xxx
ReplyDeleteHey Sharon, I am glad I have shared the everyday stuff I stow in my bag....you never know when you might need a corkscrew after all ;0) We are having a fab half term thank you x
DeleteHi Michelle not sure I am brave enough to expose the contents of my handbag yet......last week I found a very gooey banana in mine! Love your favourite River Island bag, such a great colour! Helen xx
ReplyDeleteThat has happened to me too....bananas and handbags don't mix! Lol! I found the River Island bag whilst seeking out the grey bag in your last post! I am missing a grey bag in my collection so I am about to purchase! xx
DeleteI need to find a bag that will do for the week of work and won't be too formal for weekends so I don't have to keep swapping all my stuff around. Love your metallic rucksack pick but I fear it would serve only my off duty life.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could do one bag for all scenarios but I am so matchy-matchy.....even matching jewellery to bag hardware which is why I switch nearly everyday!! I need a bag in a neutral colour with no hardware...yep, that is the answer! Thank you! xx
DeleteOoh corkscrew in your handbag is the best idea ever!! Loving the bag selection especially the first one!! And the second one, oh infact all of them!!!!!

I've come up with a few more things now....I am also adding plasters and a mini hairspray after seeing this on someone else's blog!! I am having a tough time deciding which bag to go for too! xx
DeleteI would need to get rid of all the receipts and tissues before I could show mine Michelle! Love the River Island grey bag too:)
ReplyDelete~Anne xx
Oooh come on Anne....let's see the contents of your bag! Have a fab weekend! :0) xx
