Well the first purchase was bound to be shoes wasn't it?! These are a lovely black metallic fabric, here is a close up.
These are a great investment as there are already so many outfits planned around them in my minds eye. I didn't expect to be wearing them so soon but they are perfect for today's typical bank holiday weather! Here's today's outfit.
Uniqlo shirt (spring 2014)
H&M (spring 2014)
Next up is what happened when I popped into T K Maxx for a new phone cover! After a quick flick through the rails I spotted this gorgeous Zoe Karssen sweater. Of course I snapped this one up as it was a bargain at just £29.99, I knew it was an item that would slot perfectly into my wardrobe! Again, this was another purchase I didn't expect to be wearing quite so soon but as we were off to a family BBQ and it was decidedly chilly so it also got it's first airing! Sign of a great purchase if you want to wear it immediately!!
H&M jeans (spring 2014)
Kurt Geiger Laurel skate shoes (see here)
Added my Topshop parka and scarf here as I knew we would be sat outside!
So now I've made my first 2 A/W purchases I am on a roll! I have made a wish list which I will share with you soon.
As always I love reading and responding to your comments.
Happy bank holiday....I'll be back soon!
Michelle xx
I always sit up and tak note when you make a shoe purchase - you being queen of shoes and all. Two brilliant purchases to ease you back in to spending mode xx
ReplyDeleteOooh wait until my next post Donna, there are boots and shoes on the wish list! Looks like I may need to purchase the boots tomorrow as this weather looks like it's here to stay! Obviously there are some more sweaters on the agenda too! Who's have thought we'd be wearing this stuff in August for goodness sake!! xx
DeleteGreat shoes, well done with biding your time (I'm soo impatient when it comes to things I've had my eye on!) very versatile as is the jumper - wish I could wear black! x
ReplyDelete('nearing fifty' av 57).
It was hard....I kept thinking about them the whole time I was on holiday but I am so glad I waited as normally I snap things up and sometimes I later regret! By the time I got back I knew I really wanted them so I knew they were worth the wait!! Not like me to be that impulsive with the sweater but I've learnt my lesson by thinking about things in T K Maxx! The fact that I wore the sweater within a couple of days proved it was a good purchase! Many thanks for leaving such a lovely comment :0) xx
DeleteA couple of great purchases Michelle, very envious of your Zoe Karrsen purchase, great look for your BBQ.

Bestfriendstyle
Ahh thank you Sue! Amazing what pops up in T K Maxx when you aren't supposed to be looking!! ;0) xx
DeleteI adore your Zoe Karrsen jumper. And you can't go wrong with Supergas. Really great purchases. I think it's funny that I had that same jacket on yesterday. My daughter borrowed it and I found it and took it back. It's like having a new jacket all over again
ReplyDeleteThank you...the jumper was a great find since I didn't go into T K Maxx looking for clothes! I see you have some Superga's too! What a saviour the Topshop jacket is at the moment, another item that is just perfect for this miserable weather! xx
DeleteLove Donna's comment - so right! Can't wait till your next post :) and I feel a quick trip to TKMaxx might be on the cards in the next couple of days x
ReplyDeleteYep....looks like I will be getting the boots if I go out today, needs must as this weather looks set to stay :0( I am going to have a flick around the Bath T K Maxx too, just in case I can unearth another Zoe Karssen gem! xx
DeleteLove the new Supergas Michelle & what a bargain with the sweatshirt.....I keep hoping summer may put in another appearance so I can top yo the tan!!
ReplyDeleteJane xx
My Midlife Fashion
Thank you Jane....can we tempt you with some sneakers now you have ventured into skate shoe territory?? I would hate to think this is the end of the summer but I have to admit I have been putting away some of the high summer stuff already :0( xx
DeleteOooooh, love the Superga's Michelle, love the metallic colour! It feels more like October than August doesn't it & I've already starting putting away some of our summer stuff, but I'm not yet quite ready to dig out the full-on Autumn wardrobe...at least not until it's September!! I haven't bought anything in August (well except for a pair of Ash Virgins, but they were an exchange from something else so that doesn't count, does it?!!). Fab jumper too, I've not been to TK's for ages...hoping to have a little more time once the small people are back at school next week! x
ReplyDeleteHey Sian! It is freezing in our part of the world isn't it?! I've started getting a few A/w bits out as I feel I will be in need of my sweaters soon! Gosh, you've done well by not spending too! And no, of course an exchange doesn't count....I look forward to seeing the Ash Virgins on you! I'm going to check out T K Maxx in Bath, but I always seem to have better luck in the Brislington branch! We shall have to plan another little shopping expedition soon xx
DeleteFab buys, you will wear them both so much. The jumper looks fab on you as do the superga's xxxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Frances, very happy with my 2 new purchases as I know I will wear them both loads xx
DeleteI love my superga's. I have a green pair and a white pair and I love them! Yours look fab. Love the metallic effect. You look so cosy in your parka too. It certainly does feel like autumn has arrived early :-( Lynne xx
ReplyDeleteThey Superga's are fab aren't they Lynne?! The parka has been a godsend these past couple of days!! xx
DeleteAre the trainers comfortable? I am praying my new Adidas and New Balance trainers are because my Kurt Geiger ones and Converse ones are not!
ReplyDeleteLoving the outfit but somehow feels out of season!
They are comfortable Fiona, they are my 2nd pair as I have some white ones too! They come up quite big, I got a 39 and think I could have got away with 38.5.
DeleteI don't want to believe the summer is over but the weather has been rubbish ever since we got back from our holiday and it feels like this weather is here to stay....looks like a lot of my outfits will be looking a bit out of season :0( xx
Brilliant purchases, I must must pop into a TK Maxx. Also love the shoes and can see that they would be perfect for lots of your outfits! What's next?!
ReplyDeleteAbbi x
T K Maxx is always worth a visit Abbi, you never know what you may find! I'm finally getting in the mood for some Autumn purchases and will be back with my wishlist soon ;0) xx
DeleteCan't wait for your wishlist Michelle....love the two purchases you made!
ReplyDeleteAnne xx
The wish list is growing by the second Anne not helped by this ghastly weather and the need for warmer stuff already!! xx
DeleteWell done you! 2 fab purchases! I've made my list & now I need to get out there & have a good look! Kids back to school soon & time will be all mine! Ax
ReplyDeleteThat's the fun part Andrea....research done then the mammoth try on session to see if these things live up to expectations!! I'm off shopping today so hoping to cross a couple of bits off the list!! xx
DeleteOoh lucky you and such a good find in Tk Maxx - you always do really well there. I keep meaning to have a visit but I can't do that till school starts again which is only next week away so not too long now. And I'm joining you in going over to the dark side - the weather has changed so much that I'm automatically reaching for the greys now.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fab find in T K Maxx especially as I didn't have to look to hard and didn't spend ages trawling for anything else once I'd found it!!
DeleteI know....the black is back but I must admit I'm quite happy about that Sue xx
Hi my lovely!! As usual you've done brilliantly with your Autumn finds and like you I'm now deciding that anything I buy I really want to be wearing near on straight away as it makes it feel it was worth buying! Love your sweater and Superga's they are perfect for now!! Hope you're having a good week! xxx
ReplyDeleteHey Sharon! Pretty chuffed with my transitional pieces and secretly pleased to be wearing some Autumn stuff already!! I love this time of year! Hope you are having a great week too....we are gearing up to go back to school now!! xx
DeleteHey, well done Michelle, for holding out on the Superga's and so thrilled you love them! But I am just a teeny little bit envious of your fab find Zoe Karssen sweatshirt though!! Helen xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Helen as without your blog inspiration I wouldn't have them, to get them at such an amazing price was just the icing on the cake! I hope to get back into T K Maxx this week to see if I can spy any other good gems! xx
DeleteSsssssh! Don't tell anyone I said this, but I really, really like those shoes. Could it be that you're luring me over to the dark side?!!!
ReplyDeleteCome on over to the dark side Helen! I promise they are not that much like trainers.....you can do it! xx
